barbican
The Barbican Centre is a performing arts centre in the City of London and the largest of its kind in Europe. The Centre hosts classical and contemporary music concerts, theatre performances, film screenings and art exhibitions. The Barbican Centre had a long development period, only opening long after the surrounding Barbican Estate housing complex had been built. It is situated in an area which was badly bombed during World War II.
The barbican in located on Silk Street, London which opened in 1982. It's a very small gallery with such a large amount of work and enough work to be inspired by. It is a really good exhibition with a range of different photographers and artists with eye catching work. 'High Court Of Justice' and 'Unemployed And Huts West Houston' were probably one of my favourite's.

These pictures represent Edges of Contrast. The way that the pictures are in black and white and the shadows are creating edges themselves really give the image a good effect, the picture are really hard to tell what is going on because theres so much going on in the first two pictures.

In New York at the end of the nineteenth- century tenements sprang up in the hundreds to house the growing number of immigrants. Berenice Abbotts photograph documents the courtyard of the first model House Act which sought to improve living conditions in focusing on the web of loaded laundry lines. Abbot suggested the high density of occupants in such buildings. These are my favourite pictures that I saw in the Barbican gallery, from seeing pictures from years and years ago really tell a story of what life used to be like years ago. As years ago pictures where made black and white and not in colour it makes life look like a whole new world.
These are pictures that I have taken during our day out at the Barbican. The Barbican is surrounded by a beautiful place to chill out, it's a place which is very alive and with the little river that runs along it with water fountains and plants. It's a great place to take pictures as it has a range of different buildings shapes and edges all around, every picture that you can take around the Barbican.
Reflective.
These pictures link to contast. These are pictures that I had taken at the Barbican, i've taken a range of different pictures and came across these as being reflective. Reflection is shown on the puddles on the ground from the rain, reflection from the floor as the light shines down, flections on buildings, reflections on a pond. It's quite amazing how you can see other sides from reflections that face opposite.
Edges.
These are another set of pictures that I have taken at the Barbican, these pictures are contrasted in edges.
